The sailors must have been inspired by the Darwin Beer Regatta.
An annual event where boats are made primarily from cans and raced. The website has some great building tips, as well as rules for the competition.

Maybe we need to have a beer can regatta in Austin at Town Lake? Probably give the Red Bull Flugtag a run for it's money.

Flooded Australian Town Saved (With Beer)

The Town of Hinton was surrounded with water for five days after flooding rains. Originally food and the basics were being ferried over, but an upcoming rugby match brought the need to load 12 kegs and 36 cartons of beer on the next ferry.

"They'll be able to watch the game and have a cold one tonight," said Philip Campbell, a SES spokesman.

Unfortunately I ran out of time when I started my new business and this batch of supplies had to be frozen or stored, probably degrading the value of the flavors. This deserves a re-do with fresh ingredients to really appreciate it. Beer still turned out to have a good flavor with good carbonation.

Notes: "Home brew: taste, after discussing it with another home brewer, we think the taste is coming from the plastic buckets. Glass will be the main fermenter until a larger setup is acquired.

Not only is the brewer a fan of hops, but for somereason I thinnk he was a fan the classic comic show speed racer! That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the label. Enjoyable beer, if I remember correctly I had two.
